The Ritual Experience - Are you the hero in your masonic journey?

Does your masonic journey
have parallels with
the heroes of ancient myths?

I found the analogy of the ordinary world and the 'special' world and the narrative that connects it especially captivating.
The keywords that struck me(I'm sure there are more) were -
  • Mysterious,
  • assistance,
  • wiser,
  • crosses the threshold,
  • trials,
  • escapes,
  • approach,
  • ordeal,
  • crisis,
  • darkest hour,
  • death,
  • reborn,
  • special recognition,
  • return to the ordinary world,
  • new life,
  • experience that transforms you,
  • symbolic.
Take  a close look at the video below. What words do you recognize?

What would you do my Brother?

We have all come across a situation where we were in a position to help someone in need.

What have we done at those times?

In this video from ABC News's - What Would You Do show,
a man named Dominic Giamo shows us what he would do

Notice how this young man follows the teachings of our gentle craft to the letter:
"To your neighbour, by acting with him on the square, by rendering him every kind office which justice or mercy may require, by relieving his necessities and soothing his afflictions, and by doing to him as in similar cases you, would wish he would do to you."

Theological Virtues On Stained Glass Windows at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral

I went on a tour of the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral today.
I was amazed at the Masonic Symbolism hidden at various places of this awesome Cathedral.
Three stained glass windows caught my eye at the Chapel. Freemasons will recognize the symbolism to correspond with those taught in the Entered Apprentice degree Tracing Board.

The window closest to the altar shown here symbolizes Charity (Love) which is the last of the principle or theological virtues.
This stained glass window depicts a lady offering food to a child and another offering  clothes. to a child.
The words are: Hungry and ye fed me. Naked and ye clothed me.

The middle window shown here symbolizes Hope, which is the second of the principle or theological virtues. This stained glass window depicts, a lady holding a Bible and a lady holding a basket of fruits.
The words are: Whosoever Liveth and Believeth in Me Shall Never Die.
